HERLA is the Senior Partner of BRAVA & RIZA Advocates. She graduated from the Law Faculty, University of Indonesia, and obtained her master's degree in Law & Criminal Justice System from the Law Faculty, University of Indonesia. Her main practice areas focus on litigation and dispute resolution in the area of civil, criminal, and commercial law.

She has been practicing law and representing clients in a multitude of practices, including intellectual property rights, anti-monopoly & competition law, medical & health, judicial review, land dispute, shipping, women's rights, family law, litigation, and dispute resolution, for more than a decade.

​

As a litigation lawyer, Herla's experience includes police investigation, court proceedings before district courts, commercial courts, high courts, the Indonesian Supreme Court, as well as the Constitutional Court. She has been involved in many criminal litigation cases and represented public officials at all stages of the Indonesian Judicial System.

In 2023, the Legal 500, the world's leading legal directory, issued The Legal 500 Asia Pacific law firm ranking directory Asia Pacific region. Herla was named 'the Legal 500 Asia Pacific: Recommended Lawyer 2023' for Indonesia's jurisdiction in Dispute Resolution.

During her years of experience, Herla has handled various legal matters involving state-owned companies, central banks, commercial banks, mining companies, oil & gas companies, airlines, telecommunication companies, shipping companies, and health industry companies.

​

Prior to join the Firm, Herla practiced in several prominent litigation and dispute resolution law firms, among others are Luhut M.P. Pangaribuan Advocates & Counsellor at Law (LMPP), and Lubis Santosa & Maramis Law Firm (LSM).

Some notable projects she had involved in include:

 

i)  Acting for one of the biggest Indonesian retail companies concerning a civil lawsuit against its tenants for a claim of compensation at South District Court;

 

ii)  Acting for one of the world's largest social media platforms concerning a copyright lawsuit against a local label company in Commercial Court;

 

iii)  Acting for PT Dowell Anadrill Schlumberger in a claim of an annulment of a BANI Arbitration Award against Mandala Energy Lemang Pte. Ltd. in District Court;

 

iv)  Representing the Master and crews of a vessel owned by an international marine management company in the interrogation and investigation process held by the Indonesian National Military-Naval Force;

 

v)  Representing a local pharmaceutical and healthcare products company concerning a legal dispute related to social welfare project (Covid19) against its former director and contractors;

 

vi)  Representing a coal mining company in the settlement process concerning a contractual dispute against a local company (contractor);

 

vii)  Representing a local company engaged in the aerospace industry concerning the investigation process as witnesses in a fraud and embezzlement case at the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian Police Force;

 

viii)  Representing the victims of sexual violence and domestic violence in the investigation process at Polda Metro Jaya;

ix)  Representing a local hospital in the settlement process concerning a civil lawsuit against its consumer;

​

x)  Representing oil and gas company in the investigation process concerning forgery and embezzlement cases on construction project consortium agreements at the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian Police Force;

​

xi)  Acting for a multinational banking corporation in District Court up to Supreme Court concerning a civil lawsuit against its consumer with claims totaling over IDR 3 Billion;

​

xii)  Acting for an oil and gas company at South District Court in a civil lawsuit concerning a contractual dispute against its contractor with claims totaling over IDR 23,5 Billion;

​

xiii)  Acting for a former deputy governor of the central bank in Corruption Court concerning the banking rescue policy on short-term funding facility case for bank failure;

​

xiv)  Assisting a former deputy governor of the central bank in the interrogation and investigation process held by the Corruption Eradication Commission of Indonesia (KPK RI);

​

xv)  Acting for one of the biggest cable manufacturing local corporations in the investigation and trial by the Indonesia Competition Commission (ICC/KPPU) concerning Bid Rigging on procurement tender;

​

xvi)  Acting for one of the Indonesian airlines company in the investigation and trial by The Indonesia Competition Commission (ICC/KPPU) concerning cartel of price-fixing on fuel surcharge;

​

xvii)  Representing a mining company in the interrogation and investigation process concerning a criminal case on procurement of goods and services of local governments at the High Court of East Kalimantan;

​

xviii) Representing a mining company in the mediation process at KOMNAS HAM concerning claims to communal land by the local community;

​

xix)  Representing a copper and gold mining company in The Supreme Court in the judicial review process on regional regulation of mining activity commission;

​

xx)  Representing The Association of Indonesian Private Universities in the judicial review process on the Law of Educational Legal Entities in the Constitutional Court;

​

xxi)  Acting for a cable manufacturing company concerning a tort lawsuit against its former director at West District Court; and

​

xxii)  Involved in defending the former head of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah, concerning the legal process.
